Solar Energy in Ireland
ENGIE’s renewable energy development capabilities can play a leading role in Ireland’s transition towards a more secure and sustainable future.
Innovation and Energy Transition
Building a more energy-efficient society and less reliance on nuclear energy and fossil fuels are the ambitious goals of the energy transition. ENGIE deploys all of its research and innovation capacity to meet these challenges and to offer ever increasingly efficient and environmentally friendly services to its customers.
What We Offer
It is anticipated that there will be a significant growth in ground mounted solar development as Ireland seeks to further decarbonise its energy supply, in line with commitments to the EU emissions reduction targets and the Paris Agreement.
- As renewable energy developers with a global profile ENGIE are seeking to develop solar projects across Ireland, working in partnership with landowners and other businesses to realise the full value of their land assets.
- After the site is confirmed as an appropriate location for ground mounted solar, ENGIE’s skilled in-house team will identify all technical and environmental constraints, and produce a design appropriate for and sensitive to the local area.
- ENGIE will undertake a rigorous environmental assessment of the proposal and (if acceptable) will apply for planning permission. We will also work with ESB to secure a connection to the grid for the project.
- Essentially, ENGIE manage the entire development process, through development and operation at no cost to our development partners and seek to operate the project for the long term which will deliver clean electricity to the grid network.
